The Challenge
Historical information is often presented through dense text and traditional educational resources, which can make it difficult for younger audiences and web users to engage with Ethiopian history. The challenge was to present the story of Emperor Tewodros II in a modern, visually engaging format while maintaining historical context and nuance.
The Solution
I created an immersive, responsive historical storytelling experience that organizes Tewodros II's story into clear chapters covering the historical context, his rise to power, centralization and reforms, diplomacy with Britain, the Maqdala campaign, and his legacy. The interface combines structured typography, historical imagery, timeline-based storytelling, responsive layouts, and interactive navigation to guide visitors through the narrative.
